LÄRABAR
Posted by admin in Health & Nutrition, Product Reviews, Wellness on August 5th, 2009

LÄRABAR quickly became my favorite on the go bar as soon as I tasted them. They are made of high quality simple ingredients that hit you with amazing flavor.
They keep their ingredient list to a minimum and I can assure you that you will recognize all of them. They most recently came out with 3 new flavors: Peanutbutter and Jelly, Tropical Fruit Tart, and German Chocolate Cake. I was lucky enough to find the first two at my local health food store and pushed any and everyone out of the way to make sure I left with some in my shopping bag!
The Peanutbutter and Jelly LÄRABAR brought back memories of my favorite school lunch. Peanuts, dates, cherries, and salt make up the ingredient list and the flavor was spot on.
The Tropical Fruit Tart jumped up to one of my favorite flavors. The ingredient list was dates, pineapple, unsweetened coconut, almonds, extra virgin coconut oil, cashews, orange juice concentrate, orange peel. It was like a tropical party in my mouth. I am a huge fan of coconuts and the addition of the fruity flavors made it even better.
LÄRABAR knows how to reach their customer and keep them satisfied. You know i’ll be on the lookout for the new German Chocolate Cake now! I need to review them all right?!

The Garmin Forerunner 305
Posted by admin in Fitness & Exercises, Product Reviews, Wellness on August 5th, 2009

I got the Garmin Forerunner 305 for my birthday and I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
I’m currently training for my first 1/2 marathon at the end of September and needing something to boost my workouts and get me motivated. My Garmin has been my training partner since the day it came in the mail and I couldn’t be happier.
It tracks your mileage, heart rate, pace, has internal GPS, and can be connected straight to your computer to give you detailed charts of your stats. It has changed my running completely and was worth every penny. I love the fact that you can see your mile splits and check your speed to know whether you need to speed it up or slow it down a little. It has been so incredibly helpful in so many ways that it makes me wonder what I ever did without it.
I encourage any runner out there to try the Garmin Forerunner. It is a top notch product that I hope more people take advantage of. It will take your running to the next level.
The Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor

The Bar Method Accelerated Workout
Posted by admin in Fitness & Exercises, Product Reviews, Wellness on August 5th, 2009

I recently had the opportunity to try The Bar Method Accelerated Workout. It is taught by Burr Leonard, the founder of the Bar Method. Burr Leonard is 61 and is in the most amazing shape. I swooned over her long muscles and toned physique!
On the Bar Method website, the description of the worktout is:
“The Bar Method™workout creates a uniquely lean, firm, sculpted body by combining the muscle-shaping principles of isometrics, the body-elongating practice of dance conditioning, the science of physical therapy and the intense pace of interval training into a powerful exercise format that quickly and safely reshapes and elongates muscles.
The result is a noticeable “Bar Method” sculpted body featuring:
- Firm
- Elongated muscles
- Reduced body fat
- High muscle definition in the chest,
- Upper arms and upper legs
- Improved posture
- Long, narrow thighs
- A lifted seat and defined hamstrings
Strong,- Flat abdominals
- Increased stamina and energy
- Extended youthfulness
The workout is similar to Core Fusionthat I had previously reviewed. This 56 minute dvd works muscles that you never even knew you had, targeting muscles like your triceps and inner thighs that leave you with a burning sensation that hurts but feels so good.
My triceps were sore for a few days after I had done the dvd. I love when you feel the burn and then know that your muscles are changing. In the dvd they use a bar, but you only need a sturdy chair or ledge to hold on to, a pair of small dumbells and a mat. The exercises are described well and are easy to learn, as well as having modifications shown throughout. If you think that this would be an easy workout, it’s quite the contrary.
Burr stresses the fact that you need to use small movements and stretching to create the long lean effect. The stretching portion is what molds your muscles. The movements may be small but they are mighty. I highly recomend you check out the dvd and try The Bar Method for yourself.
